How We Review

My Beauty Box Review publishes DIY skincare recipes, ingredient guides and reviews of beauty subscription boxes and products. This page explains how we work, so you can judge our content for yourself.

Who writes our content
Our articles are written and edited by the My Beauty Box Review editorial team. [We use AI-assisted tools for drafting and research, and every article is edited and fact-checked by a person before it is published.] We are not dermatologists, doctors or cosmetic chemists, and nothing here is medical advice.

How we create DIY recipes

  • We base recipes on common, well-documented ingredients and techniques.
  • We state exact amounts, storage advice and safety notes.
  • We say clearly when an article is based on research only and when we made the recipe ourselves. Photos marked as ours are our own.
  • We do not claim that a homemade product treats, cures or prevents a skin condition.
  • We keep recipes simple and small-batch, because homemade products have no tested shelf life.

How we review boxes and products

  • We look at price, what is included, the official full-size value of the items, shipping, how to cancel and who the product suits.
  • We tell you how we got the product: bought by us, sent for review, or not tested (research-based). [Right now most of our product comparisons are research-based, using ingredient lists and manufacturer information.]
  • We do not run laboratory tests and do not claim clinical results.
  • We check prices and offers when we publish and mark the date of the last update. Offers change, so please check the retailer’s site.

Free products and payment
We may receive free products or boxes. We always say so in the article. Nobody can pay for a positive review or for a particular rating. If a post is sponsored, it is labeled as sponsored.

Affiliate links
Some links are affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. This does not change what we write. See our Affiliate & Editorial Disclosure.

Sources and safety
For ingredient and safety information we use sources such as dermatology organizations, regulators and essential oil safety bodies, and we link them at the end of the article. Please read our Medical & Skincare Disclaimer and always patch test.

Corrections and updates
If you find a mistake, tell us at info@mybeautyboxreview.com and we will check it and correct it, with a note when the change matters. We update articles when information changes and show the date of the last update.
