Wantable Style Edit Review: New Women’s Clothing Subscription

Wantable Style EditI was so, so happy to see Wantable launch a women’s clothing subscription similar to Stitch Fix. I love SF and I love Wantable Fitness Edit. This one is sure to be a hit. Right?

Like Stitch Fix, a Wantable Style Edit Stylist handpicks five clothing items for you each month. These are chosen based on an extensive profile quiz you fill out when placing your order.

You pay a $20 styling fee and then have five days to try on the clothes. Send back what you don’t like. Only pay for what you keep. And, that $20 goes towards your purchase. You also get to choose your price category. I opted for the lowest price for most items which is $50 to $100.

Here’s what my first month included:

DEX New York Moto Jacket

This is a cute jacket from DEX New York and much better quality than some fake leather jackets I have had my hands on over the years. I have a real one similar to this however so I will pass on the $89 item.

French Connection Polly Top

French Connection Polly Top Hem

Not a fan of this French Connection Polly Plains Top. At. All. What is with those little balls? Reminds me of curtains. Returning. This one was priced at $58.

Freeway Beaded Skirt

I love, love, love this beaded skirt from Freeway. It reminds me of high school in the 90s. Styles from that era are making a comeback, ya know! Sadly, the only time I’m likely to wear a skirt is to a funeral or wedding. This is probably not suitable for either. I can’t justify the $98 price tag to hang in my closet so I can look it.

DEX New York Heather Top with Lace

This is a cute Heather top with lace from DEX New York. There is lace detail on one shoulder. It’s only $39. I’ll keep it to cover my styling fee.

BB Dakota Marled Sweater

I’m so sad. I love this BB Dakota Marled Sweater. But, it’s huge. I marked medium on my profile, and I definitely need to change it to small. I love this though. Luckily, I found three left on 6pm and at a way lower price than the $95 Wantable was charging. The only difference is I think the 6pm one is black and this one is navy. Bummer.

I’m sending everything back but the tee. I had enough credit – you get store credit for referring friends to Wantable – to cover my styling fee and the shirt. I’ll take free. To keep everything would have only been $244.25 after the styling fee credit and 25% keep-it-all discount. That’s not bad at all for five pieces.

I need to change my sizes and I did leave detailed feedback for each item I’m returning to help my stylist next time.

These services are great for people like me. I can go to the mall to buy a new outfit, walk around for three hours and walk out with nothing because something didn’t jump out and grab me. This gives me the opportunity to try stuff that I wouldn’t otherwise choose. I’ve found some pretty great pieces through these services.
