Victoria Jackson is the original “no makeup makeup.” Today we are reviewing three of the most popular products from the brand; Gentle Eye & Face Makeup Remover, Foundation Duo and Survival Kit.
Gentle Eye & Face Makeup Remover
I love a good oil-based cleanser. I have found them most effective in removing the big volume mascaras currently on the market. Not only is this an oil-based cleanser, but it also does not require rinsing. Soak your cotton pad. Wipe away the makeup. Done. This is a big bonus for me as I frequently forget to wash my face before crawling into bed. I can keep this on my bedside table – yes, it is crowded – for a quick cleanup.
You can also use this as an eye treatment. Made with chamomile, place moistened cotton pads over your eyes for two minutes to calm the skin.
Foundation Duo
I don’t use a lot of foundation these days because I find many too heavy and cakey. This is a sheer formula that you can “build” to your preferences. I like having the two colors to cover skin tone differences.
This is Light duo. There is a second compartment under the colors that holds the application sponge.
Survival Kit
The Survival Kit was the most exciting of the three items. This compact design holds everything you need for quick touch-ups on the go. There are 10 eyeshadows, 5 lip glosses, blush and bronzer, mascara, eyeliner, lipliner and brushes. And a mirror, of course.
The kit is about as big as your hand so it fits easily into your purse or duffel bag. The pencils were soft which is really important to me. I hate the pulling that comes from harder versions.
This is strictly a travel kit in my opinion. The product available is small so I wouldn’t use it for my everyday application. It wouldn’t last long. And as is usually the case with travel kits the blush brush isn’t the best. It’s really small, but that’s usually the case.
