Project DIY Review

The folks over at Project DIY offered to send over a box for my review this month. This is a newer craft subscription by M&J Trimming, the source for fashion trims and accessories. This month’s theme was “Joan of Arc” and included both a necklace and bracelet project.

I was impressed that everything was packaged so well. Each project had its own little box. The gold cuff and tools were in their own individual bags.

Thank goodness they included tools – which all new subscriptions come with for a limited time. I didn’t need any of the jewelry “extras” and I’m sure that I could have found some of those pliers/cutters in my husband’s tools, but who wants to go through that? Or get dirty, as I’m sure they are covered in gunk? Not me.

At first I was a little bummed that the instructions were not included in the box. You need to visit the website or download the phone app. I think that could be a downer for someone hoping to complete the project with a teen or friend away from technology. Sometimes we all need to get away from the distractions and connect without possible interruptions. I went on the website though and the steps were easy to understand.

These were my finished pieces. The included “shield necklace” project was really not my style, so I went for something more simple and classy. I was surprised at my crafting abilities. I was worried this would be disastrous, but I think I did okay!
