Pijon Box Review: October
Pijon Box is a new subscription box for college students. This one is new and I was lucky enough to pick it up on Living Social last month.
I opted for the Male subscription for my husband when I signed up. My October Pijon Box included the following:
- Awake Caffeinated Chocolate (2)
- Awesome Bars (2)
- Badger Sore Muscle Rub
- Waxelene Petroleum Jelly Alternative (2)
- Dan & Dave Vintage Plaid Playing Cards
- InstaEDU – 4 free hours of tutoring
Lessons at InstaEDU start at $24 per hour. This would be a great value EXCEPT you have to use all 4 hours in one week, you have to give a credit card to take advantage of the offer and when your four hours are up you are automatically enrolled in a $48/week subscription. Anything that requires me to hand over my credit card to take advantage of, I no longer consider part of the box value. It’s now a bonus item.
That being said, are the other items worth the $29 per month Pijon Box subscription? The Waxelene tubes can be purchased online for $4.99 each, the Awesome Bars for $2.50, Badger rub $5.99, playing cards $6.95 and Awake chocolates est. $.50 each. That brings us to just under $29!
Not too shabby. We have three more months to go on our subscription. The only complaint thus far is the packaging. The box was huge! It was a little difficult to find the items in all of the packaging shreds. I would recommend cutting down on the box size. It’s better for the environment!
