New! Birchbox Perfume Sampler: A Worthy Investment? — My Beauty Box Review
I am so excited about this new release. I have long been a lover of the Sephora Perfume Samplers and now Birchbox is offering a similar setup. How these scent boxes work is you are mailed a handful of perfume samples to try. Also in the box is a gift card so you can purchase the full-size version of your favorite. So how does the Birchbox version stack up?
The Birchbox Scent Sampler will include seven perfume vials:
- Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine Cologne Absolue
- Catherine Malandrino Style de Paris
- CLEAN Skin Eau de Parfum
- English Laundry Signature for Her
- Harvey Prince Hello
- Joie Folle de Joie eau de parfum
- Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume
The box is $24 and you will receive a $30 promo card to be applied towards the purchase of a full-size bottle on Birchbox. The above scents range in price from about $38 to $170. That’s definitely something to keep in mind.
Sephora offers several perfume samplers – for both men and women. Most include around seven (glass designer bottle) to 14 (sample vial) samples. Their prices run $55 to $65. The huge difference here – you can upgrade to a full-size version at no additional charge though it does need to be done at a Sephora store.
For me, it’s too difficult to nail down a perfume in the store. There are too many smells going on. Therefore, I love the opportunity to try several at home over the course of several days before making a decision.
I have to lean towards the Sephora sets with the current arrangement. The prices are too dissimilar at this point. The $30 gift card is nice on the $38 perfume but not so much on the $170 one.
