Microblading / Eyebrow Embroidery and Lash Extentions: Review
After First Appointment
Microblading Eyebrows
I’m sure we can all agree there are certain parts to your ‘getting ready’ routine that are mandatory. For some it’s their mascara to make up for a lack of lashes. Others it might be having their lipliner to create the perfect plump pout. I have plenty of friends that wouldn’t leave the house unless they had their concealer and foundation on to create perfect flawless skin.
For me it’s been my eyebrows for the last 15 years. Ever since I got them waxed my freshman year of college they got skinnier and skinnier wax by wax. Slowly it began monopolizing my makeup routine.
Brows Before and Without Lash Extentions
I had been wanting to get my eyebrows permanently done for a long time. When I started seeing microblading it was a no brainer. I’m so picky about who I let shape my eyebrows so it was very important for me to find a microblading artist that I could trust. I recommend researching online and really look for before and after pictures. If they don’t have many that’s a BIG RED FLAG.
After it is all said and done I have to say it was so easy and the results are amazing! Gorgeous full eyebrows that will last for up to 18 months (touch up is advised every 18-24 months). The following was my experience:
-My microblading artist was trained using the European technique. She helped me achieve the exact brow shape I wanted by penciling it on. This took the most time because we both were really looking for the perfect shape and to make sure my brows looked like twins and ot just sisters. I prefer less of an arch and more of a traditional French shape so we worked on getting it exactly right.
-Next she started the process and I would say the pain on a scale of 1-10 was around a 4 or 5. It hurts but its such quick strokes that it’s only for a second off and on. (Something I didn’t expect was all the sneezing! It often happens that a client needs to sneeze during the procedure, because the facial nerve is tickled during the process.) Also the scratching noise was unexpected. You can hear the needle as the artist passes over your skin. It made my hairs stand up!
-The artist will pass over or microblade the brows as many times as necessary until the client is happy with the shape. Once finished they apply the ink and then let the healing begin!
After Touch Up
-Brows will look much darker immediately after appointment but will lighten as they heal. Once they heal you will have a second appointment to touch up. The touch up is exactly that, a touch up to make sure they are perfect.
I highly recommend trying if you have had the interest. It’s worth the time and money. Keep them natural and they will always look timeless and keep you looking fresh.
Lash Extentions
Lash extensions are the other gift to give yourself if you are wanting to give yourself that extra little something to make your life easy. They can take a really long time to get apply if you don’t go to someone who is a veteran.
It is one of favorite things ever because if you have short, blonde and average lashes like I do they really step up your game. Not kidding when I say it is such a dramatic difference you will be hooked. Unfortuantely it’s expensive to keep up with and you have to go every 3 weeks at the least.
I would recommend for a special event or just to give yourself a little something to cheer you up if you need it! Instead of getting your nails done get your lashes done for a change.
(In the picture at the top you can see the lash extentions versus the last two…such a huge difference)
