May Birchbox Review: Freewheeling (+Coupons)
Birchbox features upwards of 40 products every month. You never know what you are going to get. The May theme was “Freewheeling” and was to feature “playful” products.
The women’s Birchbox is only $10 per month and usually includes around five samples. My box this month included:
Gilchrist & Soames Spa Therapy Body Lotion – This is a nice sample size. The lotion smells wonderful – more on the clean side of the fragrance spectrum. It’s also paraben-free.
Number 4 High Performance Hair Care Shampoo (and bonus conditioner foil packet). I almost threw this into the giveaway pile. I hate 99% of sulfate-free shampoos out there. Luckily I didn’t! This is a points-worthy purchase. It smells amazing. It has great lather. It actually leaves your hair feeling clean and conditioned. It’s a winner.
SmartyPants Gummy Vitamins – This was a bonus item. We have received these in a number of subscription boxes over the past year. My husband loves them.
Cynthia Rowley Beauty Silver Eyeliner – Oh, how I love a funky eyeliner. This one is awesome. It goes on incredibly smooth – no pulling. It can also be blended for a more smoky effect. (There is a great deal on the Cynthia Rowley Spring Collection which includes a black eyeliner.)
Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow – I always get a little worried by things labeled “golden” and “glow.” However, I do not see this one has anything to do with bronzing. That’s a good thing! Instead, it is supposed to give a dewy, light-reflecting finish while evening out the skin tone, calming the skin and promoting skin regeneration. This was a nice little box. There are a few things I do not mind receiving on a regular basis – body lotion and foundation being two of them. The eyeliner is definitely a winner for me as well.
