June Julep Maven Box: Oxygen Base & Top Coat Reviews
This was the first opportunity to upgrade to the new My Maven subscription which allows for almost full customization of your monthly selection. I was happy to upgrade for the extra $5 and had fun choosing my colors and add-ons. Apparently too much fun! When my Maven box arrived today I had to go back and make sure I actually did order all of this stuff.
I love the Oxygen Nail Treatment. I use it a lot. Therefore, I couldn’t pass up the new Oxygen Base and Top Coats that were released for June.

Veronica: $14 – This is pretty pink/purple color.
Marjorie: $14 – I love this shimmery orange. Gorgeous. Not one I would normally have picked out for myself, but I’m glad I got it.
Ariana: $14 – This is a sparkly purple. I like it. I don’t know that I love it as much as I thought I would however.
Katerina: $14 – This is a stunning iridescent. Love! It’s one of those that looks like maybe you haven’t done much with your nails…then POW! it hits the sunlight and lights things up.
Oxygen Base and Top Coat Reviews
Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat: $18? – This base coat is supposed to deliver more oxygen to the nail bed while smoothing out any imperfections. It dries quickly and leaves the nails a flat milky white color. I have always thought the Julep nail color formula was a little thin. I thought it went on a lot smoother and “held” a lot better with the base coat. And I do not believe any of the colors I received this month are the upcoming Color Treat formulas.
Oxygen Performance Top Coat: $18? – There is a silver coating on the bottle of the top coat which irks me for some reason. I immediately think they are skimping on me because I can’t see how full the bottle is. That’s more my problem than theirs however. When they say this one dries quick, they mean it! I’ve always had a smudging problem with Julep polishes as I am a little too impatient. Not this time.
Verdict
The prices of the Oxygen Base and Top Coats are estimates based on similar products on the site. These are new releases so they were only available to Mavens this month. They are not yet for sale on the site.

I had enough Jules this month for a free box and then some. Though the referral program will soon be changing to $15 in store credit per referral as opposed to Jules, you will still receive Jules for every purchase. I don’t accumulate referral credits anyway so this change doesn’t really effect me. I’ve only ever received Jules for my Maven box and store purchases.
