Jason Ferruggia Quarterly Box Review: #JFQ01
Quarterly.co offers subscription boxes with numerous celebrity curators. As the name suggests, they ship every quarter. Whether you are a man, a woman, a pet lover, a chef, a geek, an artist or a muscle head, they have something for you. This was a company we had not yet reviewed so when I saw a few NFL curators available, I signed up my husband. Those kept getting pushed back so I replaced that sub with Jason Ferruggia when he popped up. Jason is a fitness expert, strength coach and author. Right up my husband’s alley!
There is usually a couple of months between reserving a Quarterly subscription and the first shipment. Needless to say, our anticipation has been building as we wait. Even I was excited for this one. Then the box arrived over the weekend.

Now Quarterly isn’t cheap. Boxes range from $50 – $100. This was a $50 box. The first thing I notice is this is a very light, very thin box. When we open it, we find four things:
- Jason’s workout book, “Minimalist Training”
- Alpha Brain supplements (30 capsules)
- Renegade Strong wristband
- Flash Drive

In my husband’s words, “This is it? What did we pay again?”
Yeah. Yikes. Not sure what to say here. I know we are spoiled with most subscription boxes. The value usually far exceeds our investment. I also acknowledge that this box sadly arrived on the heels of the Nina Garcia Quarterly box which had a retail value of what? Around $450 and was packed to the gills?
Are we missing something? On the curator sheet Jason mentions four books that should have been included. But there is no way four books could fit in this box. Is there another box coming? Would Quarterly have told us that? Oh wait. That’s what’s on the flash drive. (I see you can get the Kindle version of these on Amazon for approx. $5 each.)
What do you think, ladies. Would you have spent $50 on this box?
Update: I have been chatting with a Quarterly rep the past two days about this box and they agreed this box is not a good representation of what they are capable of or a typical shipment. As a first-time subscriber, their customer service has been exceptional and we did come to a resolution.

I would seriously ask for a refund.
Sub boxes are usually such a sensory experience – things to see and smell and touch and taste and just HOLD in your two hands. Not much of that here.
I did email customer service to ask about the missing “books” before I realized they were on the flash drive. I will be providing some feedback when I get a response.
