Get Free Fashion & Beauty Products with Recycling Programs

Many consumers are becoming more conscious of the amount of trash piling up in our landfills. Not every person has access to curbside recycling however. And not all product packaging is accepted if you do.

Today I have rounded up some great recycling programs for those hard-to-dispose-of beauty tubes, pots and sticks. You may even land yourself some free product while saving the planet!

Back to MAC Program – Return six (6) primary packaging containers to your local MAC counter or send them in to MAC Online and receive a free MAC lipstick of your choice.

LUSH 5 Pot Rule – Check your black pots for a “5 Pot Rule” message. Return 5 and receive a free Fresh Face Mask.

Kiehl’s Recycle and Be Rewarded Program – Bring in 10 full-size bottles and receive one travel collection product of your choice.

Bond No. 9 and ZOYA both host annual recycle/reward events though they are only available during a short window. Mark your calendars for next year!

Fashion Project in Partnership with Nordstrom – Donate your gently-used clothing, shoes and accessories and receive a $40 Nordstrom gift card.

Goodebox – I did find one subscription box doing “goode.” Goodebox has partnered with TerraCycle to help get that beauty & cosmetic packaging recycled. For every 40 points you accrue (approximately 20 items) you will receive a free bonus sample in your next Goodebox.

Even though you won’t receive any free goodies, Origins and aveda will happily recycle any empty cosmetic container, regardless of the brand.

TerraCycle Personal Care and Beauty Brigade – If you are not a Goodebox subscriber but would still like to recycle your items through TerraCycle you can. TerraCycle has partnered with Garnier to keep more beauty and personal care packaging out of the landfills. They have several donation opportunities available at this time.

What other recycling programs are you aware of?
