Birchbox Man September Review

Birchbox Man September Review

My mailbox runneth over this weekend! One of the goodies we found was my husband’s September Birchbox Man. This month’s theme was “Adventure Ready” and was a collaboration with Men’s Health magazine.

My husband’s box included the following:

  • Ernest Supplies Shave Cream
  • Histoires de Parfums 1899
  • VitaMan Face and Body Cleanser
  • LUXE City Guides – Chicago ($9.99)
  • Men in Cities Leather Passport Case ($40)
  • Men’s Health magazine for one year ($10)

There is not a single thing in this box that my husband wasn’t excited about. Though we are a good jaunt from Chicago, this guide is still good reading material. And the samples are all things he loves to see arrive in the mailbox.

I’m not going to put a value on the samples, because at this point it’s irrelevant. With the three full size items you are already looking at almost $60. The Birchbox Man subscription is only $20 per month and it consistently over-delivers. Consistently! We love this one.

Visit Birchbox to get on the waitlist for this subscription. It’s well worth the money.

  1. I felt this was one of the worst boxes I’ve received. The cheap passport case ($40, really?!?) was the bulk of the box and only got a lotion, the body wash, and a cologne sample. I’m getting sick of paying twice as much as my girlfriend’s box and getting half as many products as she does.

Hey, Marcus. We were having a really bad run with Birchboxes for awhile also. Once we updated my husband’s profile things have gotten a lot better. Do make sure your profile is up-to-date and complete (they added some new questions a few months back.)

I’m always on the lookout for comparable men’s boxes, but thus far no luck. I’ll let you know if I find one.

      Best of luck!

      • Thanks, I’ll check the questionnaire again. I just know that each month I only seem to get 3 or 4 items. I know they always try to put a “big” item in there to make up for it, but I’d rather get more samples and small items than one of these so-called lifestyle items which, let’s be honest, are mostly for hipsters. (ie: scarf, crazy socks, etc)
