Best Primer For Oily Skin: The Body Shop Instablur Review

Since being introduced to primers via a subscription box I have been on a personal mission to find the best primer for oily skin. You see, a primer isn’t just a primer. There are dozens of formulas with hundreds of supposed features.
I have heard amazing things about The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur. I made a special trip to the mall just to pick it up. And boy am I glad I did!

The Body Shop Instablur Review
I have purchased a ton of primer over the past few months. This tube is on par with the typical size and price ($22). There isn’t much info on the package itself, but the display told me the All-in-One Instablur has five main features:
- 12-hour shine control
- Diminished pore appearance
- Blemish hiding
- Complexion Unifying
- Makeup Extending
If you have tried a lot of primers, you know there is a huge difference in formulas. Some feel like liquid powder – the kind I find most effective on my oily skin. Some feel more like a moisturizer. I tried it out in the store to make sure it met this initial test. It had the powdery-silicone feel I’m seeking. And no color. This one is for every skin tone.

I didn’t wait to get home to try it and I put this product to the test for sure. I had used a serum I shouldn’t have that morning (instant oil slick) and I had not only been shopping all day but had also gotten a wax with my hair cut that morning (redness). I didn’t bother to wash or even wipe my face off, I put the Instablur on as-is.
Bam! Immediate results.
I didn’t bother to put on more makeup after my first test. I felt that good about how my skin looked already. The oil was gone. My skin tone looked a lot more even. The pores on my forehead and around my nose weren’t as noticeable. With makeup you are going to love it even more. You’ll get that “photo finish” everyone is talking about these days.
If you have oily skin like me, pick the wrong primer and you have just wasted an entire day’s worth of makeup in a matter of minutes. You will have an oil slick on your hands. Find the perfect primer and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur may be my perfect primer. I was highly pleased with this purchase. I wish I would have picked up a second tube.
The Body Shop Best Products for Oily Skin
The Body Shop is one of those haul stops that’s always on. Their usual upsell is Buy 3, Get 2 Free. You are also going to have the option to join their Rewards Club for additional savings and offers. If you are new to the store and suffer from similar skin issues (oily, combination, acne prone), here are a few recommendations when picking up the Instablur and my recent haul.

Tea Tree – The Body Shop has a Tea Tree line that you must try if you have acne prone skin. They even sell the straight oil for spot treatment (this stuff also works magic on bug bites). I also picked up two of the Skin Clearing Facial Wash.
Seaweed – I love the Seaweed line for oily/combination skin. There are several items in each line. Here I picked up the Mattifying Day Cream (for real!) and Seaweed Pore Perfector 0.5 fl oz.
Give a few of these items a try and let me know how it goes!
Have you tried The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur? What did you think?
