Ladies shouldn’t have all the fun when it comes to beauty products. After all, there are some awesome products out there marketed specifically to the specific needs of men. There are a handful of quarterly or monthly boxes for men to discover new products. Box of Handsome by Urban Cargo is one of them.
It should come as no surprise that most men’s beauty boxes focus their samples around shave, skin and hair. Upon ordering the Box of Handsome, you will be asked to fill out a Grooming Profile. This will be used each quarter to curate 3 to 5 high-end samples that match your (or your man’s) style preferences and skin type. In addition to samples ranging from shaving creams to anti-aging products, a $5 store credit is also included with each quarterly shipment. Featured brands include Alchimie, Clinique Men, New York Shaving Company, John Master’s Organics and more.
There are not many reviews out there right now. This program only launched August 2012. These are quality, high-end brands, but I cannot vouch for sample sizes or overall box value. I am a little apprehensive due to the price point compared to the photos featured on the site. While sample boxes for men are usually at a higher price point than many of the women’s options, they also tend to have a much higher retail value. Yes, we pay $20 per month for Birchbox Man. However, there are usually lifestyle bonuses and larger samples included. Urban Cargo may be one we have to try for ourselves a few months down the road.
