12 Awesome Fitness Apps for Android That Actually Work

It’s a struggle to workout every day. It isn’t because I don’t have the time. I do. It’s simply motivation and monotony that drive fitness to the bottom of my to do list.

I’m opening up the blog again today. This time we are talking to home business owners and fitness experts about their favorite fitness apps for Android. These will help you switch things up, stay motivated and get that body summer-ready.

These top fitness apps for Android will help you switch things up, stay motivated and get that body summer-ready.

Go Local

Rachel Starr, an Associate with Inner Circle Labs, directed us to a cool app called Vint. “Vint is an on-demand personal trainer service via an iOS and Android app. Users have total power – they select what kind of workout, location and time works best for them and then they’re connected to fitness instructors and personal trainers that fit their needs (running coaching, yoga, boxing, endurance weight lifting and more).

As you probably know, hiring a trainer can cost big bucks, so this gives users a less expensive option but the workouts are still high quality. I’ve been working out with a kickboxing instructor through Vint and it is kicking my butt.”

Whitt Kelly from Turner PR also recommended a “local social” fitness app, “One of the new favorites around Denver is Gociety, a social media networking app for outdoor types. They have an accompanying app available that connects outdoors types with each other for planned activities (from skinning up the mountain before work to rock climbs in the Rockies).

We love it here in Denver, and the app is has expanded to cities all around he US and into the international world. This is not only a great way to meet new people, but to take advantage of the amazing natural resources that everyone here loves to utilize. Often times, users can learn something new by joining trips and learning from experienced adventurers (such as secret hikes or how to set up “skins” on skis).”

Circuit Training

Yvonne M. Feltman recommends Sworkit, “I like the sworkit exercise app because the exercises have video and require no equipment. It is good for on-the-go users and travelers. Also has targeted exercises and a timer for added ease. I absolutely love it. Gets me sweating and I really feel like I get a solid & varied workout done in only 20 minutes (can go longer too!).”

Hope Alcocer is among the many HIIT fans, “I have been using 12 min athlete for over a year and it has been life changing. The founder/creator always emails back and tweets back if you have any questions as well, so it creates a level of “friendship” as well as you journey to a better, healthier you. These 12-16 minute HIIT workouts can burn anywhere between 12 and 20 calories PER MINUTE, so not only are the results wonderful, but it’s easy to do even in a time crunch.”

Overall Fan Favorite

Kay Brown, President/Founder of Sweat N Swag Fitness, shares the same sentiments of many when it comes to the best fitness app:

My favorite app is MyFitnessPal because it link with my BodyBugg and I can track my meals. I also encourage my clients to use it and they find it easy and efficient to manage their meals and workouts!

YogaMihi

I love yoga, and now you can get personalized programs on the go. You can even work with a live Yoga Therapist. The app also includes information about local studios, meet-ups and more.
