The two best things ever invented are illuminators and bronzers. If you don’t agree then you either have never used them or have that dewy glowy bronzy thing happening naturally and don’t need them (and if that’s the case I’m super jealous). I’m just going to say it…I’m obsessed with this palette. Bh cosmetics has come out with the most beautiful selection of baked illuminators and bronzers. The Wild & Radiant Baked Illuminating & Bronzing Palette is my favorite. They can be used wet or dry on your face, your eyes or even your body. Great for contouring and highlighting, this palette is my everyday go to that just adds a little extra something to finish a look.
The most natural looking thing to do with an illuminator or highlighter is to dust softly while following right above the cheekbone and curve around the temple to the outer corner of your eye. Dust a little right above your eyebrow and the tip of your nose and maybe right above your lips and a tiny bit on your chin. It gives your skin that dewy finish that makes your skin look luminous and fresh. I love throwing some on after I apply bronzer and you instantly look healthy and sun kissed. Who doesn’t want to look like they’ve been at the beach all weekend?!
The one tip I would suggest is use a matte powder or bronzer underneath only because the entire palette gives off a shimmery and glowy like finish. You want to be able to choose the areas to apply it versus using the bronzer from this palette on your whole face. It’s meant to be more of a contour tool or to highlight so be aware of that before you use it.
Also, the two types of brushes I would recommend you use to apply illuminators are a tapered highlighter brush (like bh cosmetics brush 30) and a contour blending brush (like bh cosmetics brush 24). They give you more control with the powder and the flexibility to blend it out. Blending is such an important part of applying makeup and it’s no different with bronzers and illuminators. Especially when your going for a natural ‘been outside in the sun but still look fresh and dewy’ look. Ladies you all know what I mean!
