I am such a fan of BB Creams because they’re lightweight and easy to apply and they have all those added elements that make it so perfect to wear alone or transition from day to night. They are great as a light foundation or used as a primer for your foundation. Any BB Cream I recommend will always have an SPF in it because that is the most important ingredient for me. I am also including a tinted moisturizer to this list because it is so good and is a total game changer! Below are my favorite BB Creams (and tinted moisturizer).
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream is a great inexpensive option and gives a beautiful lightweight coverage. It is blendable and dewy which is the main selling point for me with BB Creams. The spf is always a must and the glowy finish gives you that natural and clean-looking finish. I would not recommend for oily skin because it can have a tendency to maybe not set very good. It is perfect for normal to dry. It comes in 5 different shades but you can always add liquid bronzer if you like to adjust the shade.
Bobbi Brown BB Cream works well for all skin types but as with any BB Cream a light dusting of powder will set it so it stays for the duration of the day. This one is great for light to medium coverage and is buildable to give you that flawless coverage. It is also great paired with a bronzer to finish the look if you want even more of a photo finish look. The consistency with this BB Cream is one of the best things about it. It’s not greasy or oily and initially has a thick and creamy look at first but as soon as you apply it, it goes on light and airy.
Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 is kind of the pioneer for the beauty balms. When I tried Dr. Jart it was one shade fits all thankfully they’ve come out with a light to medium. The consistency is definitely thicker than some BB Creams and if you like more coverage this is your jam. However, that can make it harder to blend so keep that in mind. The finish is very dewy so if you like to add a dusting of powder or bronzer it might not go on evenly. Leaves a beautiful glowy finish but just make sure it matches your skin tone because that would be the biggest complaint.
Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream is my go-to anytime face cream. Bare Minerals has a version of a BB Cream but this is my favorite and it’s exactly like and functions the same as all other BB Creams. The coverage is perfect, light enough to blend well but heavy enough to cover and build if needed. There are several shades available to match your skin tone to give you that natural, bright and glowing finish. It can be worn alone or under foundation and it doesn’t gather in creases. It has a velvety long lasting finish and goes on just like a moisturizer.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum 20 is such a fabulous product to mix with anything and everything. I love to mix in my foundation or even just wear alone in the summer. It has the perfect bronzy look to give your skin that healthy glow and color like you’ve been in the sun. It is perfect for enhancing your skin and it’s versatile to use with a foundation if you want more coverage.
