It would be safe to say that the majority of people have a certain signature fragrance or scent they love. I think we all have our favorites but let me tell you that creating the PERFECT scent is the ultimate signature scent. I’m obsessed with mixing and layering scents to create a one of a kind fragrances which always creates questions like “what are you wearing?” or “is that your perfume?”. I just received little box in the mail yesterday and as we all know the best things come in little packages. Scent Trunk sent me 3 sample scents to try and based on their picks they know me very well.
After filling out a profile to describe scents I am typically drawn to and perfumes and colognes I already wear or own they were able to choose 3 different samples for me to try. I was kind of shocked at how well they nailed it to be honest. I really really loved two of three and the one I wasn’t the hugest fan of on its own it is going to smell amazing paired with a couple lotions I have just to tame down it’s overly sweet factor.
The three they sent me are Pavane No.1 by Gwendolyn-Mary. This one combines lychee fruit, fig, orange blossom, and fresh cut grass. It smells SOOOOO good. You know when you sample a perfume in the store or in a magazine and you have it on your wrist all day and you can’t help but constantly keep smelling your wrist. That’s what’s happening so you know it’s a winner. And the other one Red Cattleya by Olympic Orchids is the same situation! Can’t.Stop.Smelling. This one is a soft fruity-floral blend, notes of citrus, peach, apricot, melon, hyacinth, gardenia, violets and lilac. I love love love it. The third one I tried is called Coconut Sugar by Note Fragrances and you’d think I would love it since I love coconut but it’s got a really sweet smell which is almost over the top. It combines fruity notes of strawberries and raspberries with coconut milk and freesia with undertones of vanilla and white musk. While I love all of the above, I think all of it together is delivering almost too much sweetness for my liking. With that said I plan to use this scent layered with something cleaner like a fresh lotion which could have the potential to make a really pretty fragrance. Scent Trunk also send a card for each scent so you can see the breakdown of the notes (top, middle, base) and pricing for each in the case you would like to invest in a full bottle. Such a great way to get customized scents instead of the old trial and error. They are pretty much just like fragrance stylists and I’m completely hooked!
