It’s pretty safe to say that when something becomes a ‘must have’ and it’s flying off shelves you can pretty much expect the knock offs to be available soon thereafter. The beauty industry has so many versions to the originals it’s almost overwhelming. Most times nothing can beat the original but sometimes it’s a pretty close match. I decided to find the ‘knock off’ version to three of my all time favorite makeup items and let you be the judge if the original is superior or if the beauty product dupes out there can be better!!
Beauty Product Dupes
First up is Scott Barnes Body Bling Bronzer. I actually own Body Bling and swear by it. It’s probably the best thing to use to give you a natural glow without having to sit in the sun whatsoever but it’s expensive. For a 4.0 fl oz it’s roughly $43. It has lasted me a really long time but it was still a little pricey for what it is in my opinion.
The look-a-like is called Lorac Tantalizer Body Bronzer. This comes in a 5.0 fl oz container and at $33 it’s definitely a better deal. I have never used Lorac’s version but all the reviews raved about it saying it was amazing and even smelled fresh. It’s absolutely worth trying based on reviews alone but the price makes it even sweeter of a deal.
I love the Naked eyeshadow pallets by Urban Decay! There are several out now including the new one for smokey eyes. They have the best shades and colors in each kit and the best thing is that they are timeless so your investment will always be a good one. However at $54 it is exactly that, an investment.
The look-alike here is the Blushed Nudes by Maybelline. It is a great value at $9.99 and is crazy similar to it’s competition. I have not used this knock off version but for the price I’m sure it will deliver a very pretty and natural look just like the Naked pallet.
Stila’s lip gloss is one of my favorites for a few reasons. It is extremely easy to apply and I have always loved the brush application. It keeps it from globbing on and you can control how much you distribute. I love the colors Stila offers from the bright poppy corals to the deep and rich merlot. The price for one is $22 so it’s not too bad but also a lot more than you might want to drop on a gloss.
The look-a-like is Elf and this knock off is an extreme price difference. One gloss is around $1.50 so you could buy one in every color and still not spend $20. Elf offers a beauty bundle subscription box to sample products. You can set up a continuous payment plan to keep receiving brand new bundles every 8 weeks!
