Fitness Edit was added to the Wantable lineup late last year. This was a subscription we hadn’t yet reviewed, so when they offered to send over a box I was happy to accept.
If you are new to this offering, this one is different than the other Wantable boxes. Instead of paying a flat fee for a box of 4 or 5 high quality cosmetics, accessories or intimates, you are paying a Styling Fee plus the cost of each item you decide to keep from the hand-picked selection. The monthly Styling Fee is $20 and the fitness wear can range in price from around $50 to $200 per piece.
As is always the case, you get to fill out a personal profile of your fitness preferences which will be used to hand-select the items you receive. You will be asked questions about your size, color preferences, workout activities, activewear likes and dislikes and how much you want to pay per piece. I marked the following:
- In the Gym
- Prices Up to $59
- Activewear Tops
- Activewear Bottoms
- Undergarments (I have way too many sports bras already courtesy of Wantable Intimates)
In my box I found the following.
This was the most expensive item in my box ($72). It’s a very cute, very simple workout jacket from Be Up. It fits loose, has pockets, and I love the two-tone black and gray. There is just the one button up top.
Someone is going to love these Be Up Supreme Leggings. It just isn’t me. 🙂 They are a little too busy for me. These were priced at $69.
These two-tone leggings from Challenge were also priced $69. I love the side pockets! Both of these leggings were that really thick legging material. No cheap stuff here.
They certainly listed to my profile because all three of my tops were hoodies. I love hoodies. I love this Malibu Hoodie top! It is extra long so you have pair it with leggings without having to worry about your booty showing. It also has an adjustable bottom. This one was $45.
This Serenity Hoodie is my favorite of the five items. It has a wide neck and color blocking for a layered look. And thumbholes! Who doesn’t love thumbholes? It’s also rouched which is always flattering. This one is $49.
I liked everything in here but the racy leggings. My Stylist paid attention to my profile. The only thing I would change is maybe my sizes. I seem to be right on the cusp of small and medium. I chose medium but I definitely think I could go back and choose small instead.
Your Styling Fee comes off the top of the cost of what you keep. You also receive a 30% discount if you keep everything. The total cost to keep everything here would be $192.80 after the 30% and $20 Styling Fee. That pans out to about $38.50 per item. That’s really not bad for quality activewear.
If you are picking and choosing individual items from the bunch however, I think that’s when things can add up quickly – and why so many are hesitant to try Fitness Edit. If you are opting for the more expensive price ranges, this may be more of a splurge than a subscription.
You have five days to try everything on and send back the stuff you don’t like. Unlike some styling services, Wantable does not charge you until your items are returned or your five days are up. None of that “we’ll credit you back nonsense.”
I liked this one, which kind of surprised me. I would definitely give it a whirl again in the future when it is time to rotate my activewear.
Have you tried this service? What did you think?
