You may recall I interviewed Hemp Box awhile back. This is a new subscription service focusing on hemp-based products. According to Rolling Stone, “The current American hemp market is estimated at nearly half a billion dollars, with hemp’s oil, seed and fiber used in food, carbon-negative building materials, and automobile composites that are already inside millions of cars.” You will also find hemp in many personal care products like those found at Whole Foods and The Body Shop. Personal care and food items are what you will primarily find in Hemp Box.
The first Hemp Box shipped in June. The company kindly sent over this box for review. The first box included:
The Wonder Seed Hemp Hand Cream – This is a nice full-size product. It’s vegan. It’s a delightful lavender scent. It was also winner of Best Hand Cream in Natural Health magazine in 2009.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts – We have received these hemp hearts in a few subscriptions this past year. Love them. They are a great source of protein with a nutty flavor. Throw them in a smoothie or on your morning oatmeal. And what a nice-sized bag!
Dr. Bronner’s 18-in-1 Pure-Castile Liquid Soap – This crazy soap can apparently clean it all, from baseboards to the human body. It’s all-natural, so why not? And this one is a peppermint scent.
Twenty-4 Zen Mocha Chocolate Chip Hemp Granola – Gluten-free and vegan, this one will make for a great snack. It’s also a great sample size.
Merry Hempster Organic Hemp Lip Balm – This is a great lip balm. It has Vitamin E and rosemary extract. This one is a spearmint “flavor” so it has a tingle.
I’m very pleased with this box. No skimpy samples. It wasn’t focused too much on any one product category. And these are products any household could use. If you are looking for a healthy living subscription box, why not give it a try?
