Sample Society is a collaboration between Allure magazine and BeautyBar.com. Subscribers to this monthly beauty box subscription can expect five deluxe size samples each month plus a mini-mag from the editors of Allure. The company reiterates frequently on their website that these are deluxe samples that will provide you with ample product to truly experience the beauty care concoction as the maker intended. No “one and done” foil packets here.
The cost for a Sample Society subscription is $15 per month. In addition to the five beauty samples, subscribers also receive a $15 gift credit each month that can be used towards a $50 order at BeautyBar.com. This is much appreciated among customers as they can then purchase the full size versions of any great discoveries.
BeautyBar.com refers to their subscribers as “on-the-go professionals.” Luxury brands such as Fekkai, Bond No. 9 and Murad can often be found within the monthly boxes.
There is a referral program available that will allow you to earn store credit for referring your friends. These credits are only good for three months and no word on whether they can be used towards Sample Society boxes or only full size products.
Sample Society Reviews
This is another subscription beauty box with very few consumer complaints. Here are three of the top comments made about Sample Society that may help you make a decision as to whether this is the best beauty box for you:
- Upscale and Sophisticated
- High-End Brands
- Typically 1 or 2 makeup items, mostly skincare, hair care and body care products
BeautyBar.com also has a lot of raving fans because of their customer service. One minor point of contention is that there are usually several sample box configurations sent out each month, each containing different items. Obviously when the word starts spreading about who got what, there is always a few wanting what someone else got. Unfortunately, that is not how most of these discovery programs work. (If you would like a program where you get to choose your samples, there are a few of those available.)
This sample program gets my approval. With five generously-sized samples at $15 per month, there are only a few beauty box subscriptions that can compete. Find out more about Sample Society here.
